You’ve no doubt heard of the ‘running of the bulls’. Well this is Boorowa’s version. At the Irish Woolfest, (October long weekend) sheep are droved through the streets just as in the 19th century – not quite like the running of the bulls in Pamplona, but just as exciting.

Doesn’t look as dangerous as the running of the bulls. :)

  • Perhaps not Max. Still wouldn’t like to be underfoot though. Thanks.

Gail, love this…not as fast as the bulls but I think just as dangerous…..if you are allergic ….to wool!

  • Aah yes Lesley. Trampled by bulls…Trampled by sheep. All the same to me. Thanks.

    G’day Gail,

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oy! Oy! Oy!
The Aussie flag, the Boorowa Hotel sign, the TV antenna and the stars of the show, the flock Merino Sheep. How more Aussie can you get?

Seen, timed and photographed well and the decision to convert to B&W was very wise as it removes so much distraction from the background.
A nice perspective, plenty of room for the sheep to stampede through, great depth of field and a good focus.
You have handled the very bright conditions very well with your exposure and processing, rendering a good contrast and a very good tonal range.
I am left wondering just what that sheep in our front left is saying to his mate!
Good work from The Coota Kid!

Gail, Never heard of this…very interesting…I’m still trying to figure out why there is a running
    of the bulls…Hugs, Sally xxxxoooo

  • I’m not sure why the running of the bulls started. This is as I said, the Irish woolfest, which puts Boorowa on the map & creates some good income for the town. Thanks Sally.
