Golden rays of the rising sun
show the world what night has done
    brings the beauty shining clear
    contrast to the shedding tear

yesterday was the day from hell
with destruction rife none could fortell
    desolation wailing in every wind
amplify success of ones who sinned

    smoke filled skies
    choke babies’ cries
    when the roar fades
    silence fills the glades

but today we rise to calming skies
and have faith for what it will bring
and we’ll hold our breath and listen
until we hear the bush birds sing!

I wanted to say in here how this piece eased my eyes & my soul
That is the constant – the sun will always rise!
There will always be a new day!
We may not be able to wake from the nightmare but in the light of the new day we can take a breath and cope!
    Thank you for posting this!

I am reminded of the second verse of Dorothea Mackellars poem. “Her beauty & her terror…”. Seemed apt. Wasn’t sure if I should mention that when I put the photo up. A lot of people still hurting. Thanks Alyssa.
