not tulips diane… but i think they are a varietal of some type of “fire” flower… can’t remember the name….

Ok, when you said fireflower a light bulb went on in my head! How about IcePlant or Gazanias (freeway daisies). I have some ice plant in my garden in Oregon, but I remember when I lived in San Diego, ice plant was like a weed and was everywhere. They are heat tolerant and they are supposed to act like a fire break!
