Artist's Description

Opium Poppy Fields of Tasmania.

PLEASE READ!

Here’s an interesting little article I found about crop Circles in the Poppy Fields of Tasmania.

Mysterious crop circles which appear in the state’s poppy fields. In true X-Files style, farmers have found circles of squashed poppies, creating the formations of mostly circles.

Under closer observation they have found that the Wallabies (small Kangaroos) are increasingly entering the fields and eating the poppy heads. This causes them to get HIGH and run around in turns creating “crop circles”.

Wildlife and livestock which ate the poppies were known to “act weird”!

Tasmania is the world’s largest producer of legally grown opium for the pharmaceutical market. About 500 farmers grow the crop supplying the market with about 50 percent of the world’s raw material for morphine and related opiates.

This would explain the “Weird” behaviour of the Cockatoos across the road when we pulled up for the photo! LOL!

Gabe :)
