Just beautiful, Gabrielle! Nice clarity and colours. I bet it smells wonderful.
Hi Merrilyn, I wish I could have added the smell on here, it’s such a beautiful smelling rose.
Thanks so much for the lovely comment! :)
Gabrielle I have one of these; one of the loveliest roses…great shot!
Hi Linda, thanks buddy, yes is a beautiful smelling rose isn’t it! I couldn’t grow the David Austins at first, they were a pain, lots of work and no reward until one day I basically told them that I was going to rip them out if they didn’t perform. I gave them a dose of dolomite and well they have been fantastic ever since. I realise now that David Austins arn’t much good in sandy soil unless you’re prepared to put tonnes of organic matter and dolomite in the soil.
Hi Mr Charmiene, thanks buddy! :)
PS. Is there any name I can call you?
absolutely wonderful Gabe!
Hi Charmiene, thanks so much for the lovely comment! Wish I could give you a bunch to take home, they really smell beautiful! :)

Real beauties my friend.Beautiful closeup.I always stop to smell them..Hugs..Tom
That’s what I like to hear Tom! :) Yes you should always take the time to smell the flowers. They are such delights to our senses, I love having a bunch on my dining table, the smell wofts through the house.
They are beautiful Gabe. Are they Charlie or David?
Hi Al, good to see you’re on the ball! :) OK sorry to confuse you but David Austin is the Hybridiser who created this rose, he has crossed many species to get different roses that have been good enough to sell on the world market. This rose is actually called Charles Austin. I think from memory, Charles is his brother. He’s got heaps of named roses and a few are called after family members from memory.
Beautiful roses Gabe. I don’t know much about flowers but aren’t they an unusual colour.
Hi Ralph, thanks m8! :) These roses are hybridised, many years of cross pollunation to get the best results. This breeder, David Austin has hundreds of roses that smell devine. As a gardener, we look for roses that grow well, have a great fragrance and the colours you want. This rose is like a peachy apricot colour. I bought it for smell, I saw it once in someones garden and had to have it. I think that’s how most gardeners aquire things! LOL!
