Snail Creeper Vine (A very fragrant flower)
This was taken in my garden early March. I read somewhere that the flower is pollenated by the ants.
The seed pods look like beans.

You must be having a very beautiful garden Gabe. Excellent shot.
Thanks so much Ralph! :) This is a vine that flowers once a year, I have to keep the roots shaded as it doesn’t like to be in too much sun.
It smells really lovely too! :)
Fantastic image and they are in such good condition! Most I see are pretty scraggly by the time I see them. I would imagine only an ant or a beetle could get in there for pollination.
Hi Elyse, yes I read somewhere that only ants pollinate these flowers! :) It’s a pretty thing and smells just beautiful, I do end up with lots of bean pods all over it, so I pick them off to prolong flowering season.
Wow.. this is a new flower to me.. very cool
Hi Sharlee, thanks so much! :) Yes this Snail creeper is a really lovely vine. The fragrance is really lovely and it’s sort of a tropical plant, smelling like it would go with frangipani and sweet smelling tropical flowers.
Like ginger flowers too! :)
