This is a wild baby galah in my back yard. He’s very quiet and doesn’t seem to mind the camera.

In your backyard?? We only see them in the Zoo…..How beautiful!
Awwh thank you Ellen! Yes I’ve got all sorts of parrots that visit my garden, I put a feeder in the tree and since then my bird population has exploded. I have flocks of Galahs, Rainbow Lorikeets, Scaly Breasted Lorikeets, Rosella’s, Musk Lorikeets and Red Rumped Grass parrots.
I just love them and the feeder was the best investment I could have made. It’s hard to get anything done around here! LOL!
Wow, what a beauty, and a really fantastic close-up!!! How nice to have these in your backyard!
Awwh thank you Nori! This little guy is probably use to me by now, his parents hatched him in the front garden tree around October. They sort of come and go all day to my back garden where the feeder is. This little guy is very quiet. Over the last few months I’ve been reading up on them and found that to tell them apart, the male galah has a brown eye and the female a red/pink eye. So this is a little guy!
Beautifully captured , how cool to have this in your backyard
Awwh thank you Kathy! Yes I know I’m very lucky! Last year I put a feeder in my backyard tree, well it’s been one of the most wonderful experiences. I have all sorts of parrots coming and going throughout the day. I even have a possum coming at 11.00pm at night who also loves the feeder.
Awwh thank you Gina! :)
Nice angle, I could almost stroke him.
hehehehe! He’d probably bite! Yes he did let me get close!
A lovely image
Awwh thank you Rosemaree! :)
A beautiful portrait and you have captured it very nicely indeed Gabe. You seem to be getting a fair share of birds visiting you. Lucky you.
A terrific shot Gabe and a fav for me. I had a photo of a baby galah and it looked bloody evil. Maybe it didn’t like me, and I’m so lovable. sob! I better quit while I’m ahead. LOL.
Great capture they fly when I get close:(
