A faded documentary about the wonders of the ocean plays vigorously on tv. A quieted narrator with a funny accent speaks of sea creatures I never knew existed. The luminous blue from the tv lights certain areas of your body, and leaves mysterious shadows where it does not. I am not paying any attention to the images of watery waves shown, but rather the perpetual blue glow that the screen creates on your skin. All I can notice is the feeling of your fingers tracing the curvature of my spine and you whispering, “You’re so lovely.”
I want to lay here all day with you.
So simply and peacefully.
Just studying your sequenced breaths with my head against your chest.
Not having to worry about counting on anything else.
I just want to be with you like this.
And feel this way with you like this,
“Do you like me?” “I love the shit out of you”
