My guardian angel helps out as usual.... by David W. Harris

So, Ive been trolling along, taking my infrared shots with my lovely new D200, but some of the churches in Northants are very big, and the shooting angles aren’t always that easy.

I need a wider angle lens !

My friend Haitch’s brother is a professional phootgrapher who has just moved up to a Nikon D300 and was selling some of his old lenses off. I was offered either a Nikon 18-200VR, a Nikon 18-135, or the Sigma 10-20. “Mates Rates” too, so I was really chuffed. After a couple of hours playing with all three lenses, I chose the Sigma.

My partner Sally, said that if I wanted a new lens, I’d have to give something up for a month, I chose to give up wine :(

So, I am currently sitting here waiting for the end of the month to arrive so I can pay him and collect the lens, when out of the blue an email arrives from Singapore, asking for prices of some of my Lin Yutang books which I am selling off my website.

I duly send off a reply giving him my best prices, and lo and behold, the total comes to within 10 quid of the price of my new lens :) The deal has been confiemd and Im just awaiting payment before 1) posting the books, and b) collecting my lens.

Yayyy for guardian angels…..
