I need a rest :) by David W. Harris

I really must take a chill pill and take a day off !

Over the last week, I have climbed Callow Hill (with a good friend), a 1000ft hill in Shropshire, to photograph Flounders Folly, a Victorian folly built in 1826 (I think). My gear was loaded into the wheelchair and I pushed it up, and it dragged me back down afterwards. A steep climb, but with plenty of breathers we made it.

The views were stunning, well worth the effort, although my knees were like jelly by the time we got back down.

I was asked to do the photos for a local walk event on Friday, so – like a fool – I did the walk in the wheelchair too, just to make sure I got all the shots they wanted. It went well, but I did need pushing the last 100m or so.

Then it was off to Moreton Corbet Castle for the first time, on Saturday. What a great place, gotta say thanks to Tracey for introducing me to it. Weather was grey and overcast, so I snuck off again on Sunday afternoon in brilliant sunshine and had my first real try at infrared. Sussed out a few likely spots for future shots of Ironbridge and the power station on the way home.

Note to self : buy a decent IR filter and throw that cheap bit of plastic in the bin – oh ebayyyyy :)

I do have to admit that I am enjoying the exercise, and am very glad to have met a certain person !
