While sitting on a balcony in Texas, these brave little birds came closer and closer to me, posing this way and that… As if they were dancing to some unheard sonata, I named this one “Twilight Sonata.”

“Time and space are but the physiological colors which the eye maketh, but the soul is light; where it is, is day; where it was, is night.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Residing near the beach, I love to take my camera on photo-shoots when there is an impending storm, darkened skies, with the threat of rain or even snow! The shadows call to me and the fog is my friend. I hear sounds…yet most of the surroundings lie hidden from view. This allows me to escape into my own world, creating the next canvas for another of my “paintings.”

The texture combined with the geometric shapes of the railings reminds me of a Japanese Shoji screen – such a lovely and serene setting for these birds.

  • I love Japanese screens… so delicate… I love that this reminds you of that… Thanks, Celeste!

    This is beautiful Susan.

  • So appreciative, Christine…they jostled for their places on the railing…doing the dance to the music in my head…
