Brilliant reflections Ben, love the tones!
What makes this photo is the child. His expression of carefree scooting along leg raised in that classical pose of child scooters. Knowing that he is more mobile, the breeze in his face and perhaps that little thrill of danger of a spill that all children would recognise. It raises questions, what is he thinking, ice cream, lollies, I’m late better hurry does he know someone to the left that he is looking at?
This appeals to the child in all of us, those distant memories.
A great street capture.
Thanks John- my modus operandi is to lie in wait from a selected vantage point for these scenes to occur. This requires some patience, because 99% of people are so guarded and paranoid in public spaces, hunkered down like trolls heading to the mines, trying to be invisible. It’s rare to see carefree expressions like this nowadays, but they always occur, eventually.
