The Cage by Ben Loveday

The Cage by

Construction work barrier and pedestrians waiting to cross the lights, King William Street, Adelaide, South Australia.
At first glance, people in the street all look the same, dressed the same, all moving in the same direction, playing follow the leader. Looking more closely, they start to form recognisable categories, classes if you will. But if you look very hard, with the patience of the street photographer, you will see a different story for every person, a different perspective, a unique life. As SBS say: 6.5 billion stories and counting. This is the power of street photography, not the search for the novel, nor the desire to see what we have been taught to see through the eyes of stylistic conformity, but to see the wonder of everyday existence.
Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10.

Brilliant, and aren’t we all one way or another!

  • Thanks Berns. They were probably thinking I was the one who was fenced in….it all depends on perspective.
