Love the geometry and high contrasts in this one.

A great shot Ben. I love the light coming through the roof and the shadows on the floor.
Beautiful form and motion
Thank you for adding this work to Streetscapes on 25th August 2011.
Ben, please consider submitting your fine street image to our new grouphttp://www.redbubble.com/groups/a-street-story
Will do. Thanks Mark. I’ll have to do it progressively because my descriptions don’t include camera settings. I’m not that technically inclined, and experience tells me that settings need to be considered on an individual basis for each shot and the dynamic range of each camera varies enormously, so they are not actually that helpful for street photographers. Sometimes I would also advocate actually using an automated setting like my aperture priority, to enable rapid bursts of shots, where the lighting varies from moment to moment, but assuming the range is within the sensor capabilities. With this shot, I had to take several try outs because of the high variance in illumination, and then wait for the subjects to get into position. If the sun had gone behind a cloud I would have had to start over, and vica versa. Perhaps a forum where we describe methods and approaches?
Cool shot Ben!
wow! beautiful picture ;)
wow thanks Manon! It reminds me to get back into the streets and do some more street photography, but at the moment our group of flaneurists is fixated on foggy landscapes and flora macros…
