What an imagination!………and what a great find !!!
Thanks Nancy- these sort of things are everywhere in the bush and on walking trails- the trick is to walk slowly and walk around strange logs etc because its all in the angle that one looks at it.

Love this monster you found, Ben! You have a really great eye and imagination to come up with this image and title. :)
I actually select the locations- ie: old growth eucalypt forests have the most twisted logs so these are the best), to hike through. Some of the monsters are quite small so I take a macro lens. I think this is probably the biggest to date, but anyone can find them if they look hard enough. We are headed back to another location nearby this weekend, so there is a chance of finding another beasty.
Ooh. I hear it roar. Or do they growl? GREAT!
Just a low throaty sound which translates as “mmmm, photographer, tastes good.”
" Aaagh ". Really does look like one. You must have eagle eyes to spot such a shot. Love it. Cheers.Tony.
Actually wear glasses because my sight is not so good! Thanks Tony.
Very nice capture
