Earth Bound

Taken at the tiny Rottnest Island cemetery where thirteen people are believe to be buried between 1853 to 1899. The is the grave of Patrick William O’Donoghue who died 13th January 1899 aged 10 weeks. May his wee little soul Rest In Peace.

My family and friends all know that I have a bit of a thing re: being buried – I want more than one opinion that I’m actually dead and I would like a fully charged mobile phone thrown in with me for safe measure. The stories of the ‘saved by the bell’ where generations ago they were buried with a bell just in case clearly had a lasting impression lol :))

Camera – Nikon D90
Lens 55-200mm
My own texture layer used several times over for both tone and texture. Gaussian blur also used.

Great toning, Love the angle of this.

  • Thanks Ric, one of rare times where I was totally happy with the composition and angle in camera, without any need for cropping etc. I used part of the wall that was behind La mariee as the texture layer. Was pretty happy with the mood it created :))

Of course you could always go for the big burn to make certain, rather than discover you can’t bend your arm up to your face in the cramped space…. um, does that make you feel better or worse?
    Great image and treatment.

  • This is true, not sure if being burn’t alive makes me feel too much better though LOL – many thanks carol :))
