Chasing Clouds

Something a little different for me – I use textures in alot of my pieces and love the effects but I rarely do the meshing of two distinct images. The images of the boys racing was taken on Rottnest Island – there was a group of teens racing down the sand dunes. The other image was of some clouds at sunset.
I had done the image as a high key, and decided to crop just these two and was playing around with the idea of using the cloud layer as a texture layer – it evolved into this.

I would love to think that children who have passed over way too early in this lifetime got to be as happy, carefree and have as much fun as this in the heavens. Hence the inspiration for the title.

This image reminded my daughter of Cloud Street by Tim Winton, an amazing aussie author and I tend to agree.

Some minor adjustments to levels, hues etc in PS.
Let me know if you think it works, as its a new area for me. Will sit with it a bit and then decide whether to leave it up.
