What are the rebubble people reading ?

I thought I would ask the redbubble people what they are reading, I would like to know a little bit about you and your interests outside of the art that you do. I think sharing our all time favorite books or what we are reading now would be fun.
My favorite all time book so far is Hawaii by James A. Michener

HERE
It had a very deep effect on me and it remains my all time favorite.

I have read anything from “the National Audubon society of rocks and minerals …LOL :) to “spontaneous Healing” by Andrew Weil, M.D. or “The Art of happiness” by his Holiness The Dalai Lama.

I would also be interested in the books your children are reading because I work at the local Elementary School Part time and I love to recommend good books to the Children.

My eleven year old Daughter is reading “the Uglies”by Scott Westerfeld for school and she seems to really like it . One of the characters is named Shay and my daughters name is Shae as well ….only spelled different but they both seem to march to their own beat .
when she’s done I’ll probably read it myself.
HERE

Funny thing though…..I stink at spelling anymore and I can’t construct a decent sentence to save my life LOL even after all the reading I do, you would think it would stick LOL …... it must be some kind of switch that’s not turned on LOL.

I look forward to your favorites and I will look them up for possible future reading enjoyment. Thank you guys ;)

Take care, Lisa

Great idea.. One book that had a really big aeffect on me was “Ishmael” – Daniel Quinn.. “Must have an honest desire to save the world”.. You should check it out.. or even look him up on the web.. I believe he has a website answering thousands of questions.. Really smart man.

On The Road.. My first of many to read; Jack Kerouac books.. Cant wait for Dharma Bums! :)

well funky, I’m reading about extra terrestrial abductions and crop circles and their impact on our introduction to the universe as we’ve been separated from the rest of the universe for over 72,000 years, whilst we act like monkey’s killing each other. We clearly have higher capabilities and “they” are back to communicate that we are not alone during this possibly most historical event taking place on this planet EVER. Apart from pranksters I’ve read many books on all these subjects and there is a hell of a lot that can’t be faked, and yet the media won’t pick up on the genuine aspects. Is there an agenda from govt’s to control this information? I think so. Absolutely. I’m very progressive in my thinking and don’t discount a n y t h i n g but scrutinise heavily. so there.

I am a great fan of the Los Angeles based brilliant fantasy writer
“Clive Barker”: http://www.clivebarker.com . He writes fairy tales for adults. Also he makes great drawings about his work.

My shortlist of my most favourite novels of other writers:
    Moby Dick by Herman Melville
    Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse
    Sea-Wolf by Jack London

Spiritually I am rather inspired by the work of Neale Donald Walsch:
Conversation with God ~ Book 1,2 and 3

During the day, when I have a break from my art and have lunch, if I do read it is one of my art mags. Its so good to read ‘how to’ from other artists. We never stop learning. At night time, if I can stay awake for more than a page or two, I read ‘Science and Health with key to the Scriptures’ by Mary Baker Eddy. I also love to read Sci Fi and Fantasy, also true stories. I too am a very busy person and I find reading at night just clears my head of the days clutter. :)

    so far this year:
Lois on the Lose by Lois Pryce – The story of her journey by motorcycle from Alaska to the very tip of South America. Fascinating read.

Suzi Quatro Unzipped – her autobiography. Very much my musical era.

Stare Back and Smile: Memoirs by Joanna Lumley, who has the sexiest voice ever.

And, of course, the best selling book ever…... The Bible.

Of course the Bible….........it has everything you ever wanted to know, I should read it more often :)

Just fiished Paul Theroux ‘Kowloon Tong’ now onto Carl Hiassen ‘Sick Puupy’

Yikes, the Old Testament has to be the most evil story I have ever read! Makes the Marquid de Sade look like Jackie Collins.

My 12 year old daughter reads Nancy Drew. I was telling her the other day that Nancy Drew was around when I was young…probably when my mother was young!
Goes to show, good work never goes out of style I guess. I also shared with my daughter that I can’t remember the last time I read for entertainment, or if ever really have. When I read, it’s mostly just information gathering, fast at that too…paragraphs at a time.
Sorry for the long winded comment

Hi Thomas The Nancy drew series is one of the best and It’s so funny that you mentioned this because I told my daughter to pick out a movie on demand while I was reading your post and when I sat down to watch it with her she had chosen the new Nancy Drew movie…..how strange is that ? Spooky huh, maybe she will want to try out that series now.
