My Greedy Mantis Einstein

I thought I would post this for anyone that might like insects. I thought about posting some of the pic’s in my gallery but I’m not sure that they are very appealing ;) He’s a greedy little bugger isn’t he ? I was happy to give Einstein his dinner but I can’t say that I didn’t feel bad because I’ve never really looked closely at a cricket before and their faces are really cute Awww.

  • Arletta

    Arletta

They are! Most things are, if you stare them in the face, from the safe distance of a photograph, though. People, bears, cockroaches, all sorts of things; though, not so much flies or sharks. Baby ones are, though!

  • funkyfacestudio replied

ok but not sharks and definitely not spiders:)

  • Darren Stones

    Making me feel hungry.

  • funkyfacestudio replied

How many crickets will it take ? I’ll send them asap ;)

  • Arletta

    Arletta

That’s true. I forgot about spiders. Well, I did see a cute tarantula once, but it might have been young. I hold firm on my statement as to the youth. Sharks, spiders, and flies are not cute, except in their youth. lol

By the way, I do like the pictures you posted. I forgot to say anything about them. lol

  • funkyfacestudio replied

my little bug died, I’m going to find the best pic’s of her/him…....I think her really soon.

  • funkyfacestudio

Einstein died around a week ago, I haven’t figured out how to tell the children just yet. I feel sad about that cute little insect, they really are somehow like pets…......so strange.

  • Outdoors2

    Outdoors2

See! Now if you had fed her some nookey, she would still be around! Gotta pimp girl! heh heh heh
Seriously though they are really interesting to watch I’ve had them in the Morning Glory vinse on the front porch. Bred, fed and had bunches of little ones crawling around too. They look robotic in their movements sort of huh?
So we postpartum name her uhmmm Joan of Ark
pic’s of her to post “still” I bet she is! ...;-P

  • funkyfacestudio replied

Nooky ? Isn’t nooky sex ? sorry I didn’t feed her that ! only crickets….....darn if only I fed her nooky ! ;( but seriously I was attached ….............they are strange little creatures. I hear that they live where they are born, just like their parents and grandparents before them. You are lucky to have them around to observe.

  • Outdoors2

    Outdoors2

They have a tendency to scare the crap outta ya when they fly into yer face. Sound like a Huey chopper doing contour maneuvers. Then the talons freak you too! eeeeeekK! haha

  • funkyfacestudio replied

He he he…...well I didn’t see any of those maneuvers ha ha ha, sounds funny though ! my little princess sat on her flowers in the vase very content and looked at me where ever I went…............oh I miss her…............yours must be the very naughty ones ! I heard about those ones….....................
