i think its amazing

I’m a guy who doesn’t like make-up so seeing it captured so well up close and personal isn’t a favourite of mine. But for a photographer to get this close to the subject and show her beauty through any make-up whatsoever is talent even the subject may not see. My gut tells me both daughters will find the fine artistry in this great photograph before too long. :-)

I wanted to see both on the same page. The one above me I believe has more emotional impact than the one you just posted. I like it well enough but it’s not nearly as strong as Day Dreaming.
Day Dreaming has a punch that knocks me out!

One of the hardest things for me to do is edit down to one image from a shoot I think people will enjoy. It’s a love hate thing I struggle with everyday.
And please tell Kaila she did a swell job on the makeup.

Lisa this is a fabulous image of a very beautiful young woman, as others have noted it really does have a cinematic feel to it, she’s watched the hero ride off into the desert, she has that hollow lost feeling, the music is haunting, at this point we zoom out to see her standing, alone ….........the credits roll….....

(my daughters aren’t happy about any photos of themselves either, comes with the territory)

The only negative I can see in this image is that there are very small but distracting highlights on several areas of her face.

there is a strong feeling of other personas/other potentials on display here….I think that might be a little daunting to a young person viewing themselves in such a way…. but it is such a strong, thoughful portrait…... beautifully done!

I am so sorry to have missed so much of your work lately Lisa (and everyone else too) – this is such a stunning portrait – she has the most amazing eyes – this has a real emotional quality – which is what I love in portraiture the most.

But this is a wonderful photo!! She looks so mysterious and like someone on a journey, a mission, someone who is willed by destiny to succeed despite the conditions – fantastic!! Maybe she just doesn’t see herself that way.
