Once upon a time
In a land of happiness and joy,
A place for fun and laughter
Lived a little boy.
The little boy seemed average,
He wore a smile upon his face,
And greeted all the people
who entered his “placid” space
But every night when he shut the door,
His knees gave way and hit the floor.
For all this time it was all a show
& not really what he felt below.
He was broken, now he’s hurt
And cannot fix the pain.
For nobody could help, they had no idea
The feelings that plague, his sorrow, his bane…
Then one night a little girl
Heard his troubled cries
So she set out to find this hurting boy,
searching, high & low, far & wide.
She followed the noise to his doorstep
& opened the big red door.
And on the ground she saw the boy, it broke her heart
So she dropped down & held him there on the floor.
And there they lay for an eternity
As hours turned into days
And slowly the boys heart began to mend
As the girls love seeped in like warm sun rays
After an age the boy looked up
And for the first time he saw the girls green eyes,
So warm and loving and kind…
And from her gaze he found the strength & slowly began to rise
He picked her up and held her near
His lantern in his eternal gloom
and gave his heart to that little girl
In that very room
For she had saved his sorry life
And shown him compassion and care
She became his guardian angel
His soulmate, so lovely, so fair.
So when you feel like that little boy
A little sorry, lost and sad
Just remember that there is a little angel
Who will mend your heart and make you glad.
We all feel like this sometimes…
we hide who we are, what we feel, so we all look big and brave without a care in the world… but that becomes a burden, to heavy to carry, and it cracks your heart and breaks your bones so share the load with a little angel, they will understand and demand nothing in return
