This was a little Francolin that had made its nest next to the side of the road in the sand. It was a little wary when we pulled up next to it but it then settled down when it found no threat.
The title is inspired by the song Sitting,Waiting,Wishing by Jack Johnson with the certain words; But Lord knows that I’m not you And if I was, I wouldn’t be so cruel Cause waitin’ on love aint so easy to do I felt the expression on the birds face captured its fear of humans and the destruction and cruelty that we often bring into nature, and then the title being that the bird is sitting, and waiting and wishing for us just to leave it in peace.

Exquisite bird. The patterns on its feathers remind one of an intricate crystal lattice .
