Triple Goddess Mandala by Marg Thomson by

Marg Thomson Photography & Fine Art

The Maiden, The Mother and The Crone

From the original acrylic on 100cm x 100cm canvas. Metallic and glitter overlays… my own personal mandala – will never be for sale…

I started this mandala the week before one of my close girl friends was diagnosed with lung cancer and finished four months later – the week after she died. It was a hugely cathartic work and the three phases of the goddess reflect the changes in me over the years. I have been the warrior maiden; mothered my child and have entered into the spiritual crone phase of my life…

The Triple Goddess forms such an integral part of my life – she is my ebb and flow, my breath and my pause. My life and my death. I honour her and all women in this painting, as we walk our journeys on this bountiful and spiritual plane.

This is a work in progress. Every year I add something to the picture as it reflects my journey through this life.

Bright Blessings to all:)

October 2010 Juried Invitational Exhibition

Featured on the HOME PAGE Monday March 1, 2010 – and I would just like to say how humbled and honoured I am by this feature – I send my thanks to every single one of you who have honoured my work by your favourites, your visits, your comments, your mail and your friendship.

I was very lost in pain today and my hope had faded to a dim light – until I was reminded that I have the most extraordinary bunch of peers and friends it is my privilege and pleasure to have ever known in my life.
