I really love your style and I’m in awe of your talent…..Superb Richard! :)
Richard Tuvey replied
Thank you Ming, I am hoping to put 12 works together.

I agree with Ming. When I look at your portraitures, I envision a name and a Profession. Are these based on real people? This chap looks like a Reginald Fotherington, Playright, slightly Neurotic and demanding. A sheer genius at scripts who paces a lot and yells when he wants to be heard. Died at the peak of his literary fame in 1939. Am I close?
Richard Tuvey
In answer to your question, yes they are all real people, however I cannot tell you much more than that as I drew these way back in 1985 ( I am giving my age away now! ). I can tell you that they are all German / Austrian Artists, Doctors, Lawyers, Chemists etc, but which ones were which I cannot say. I taught myself to draw by working on these portraits, you see I was always very aware that there was absolutely no drawing in my paintings, this is true even today and although it was not necessary it was a skill I felt I had to learn.
Regards
Richard.

Ok Richard..should I change their Christian names to Germanic ones now?? At least I got a few right with the professions! Oooh, this is fun!
More please?
