This male hover fly (Toxomerus geminatus) was so intent on getting a taste of the pollen on this purple aster that it would not move off for any reason.

Not usually one for bug images I have to admit this one is extraordinary! The clarity on the insect is amazing and those wings fantastic. Overall the composition is perfectly balanced with the focus on the visitor and forager!~
