my brown rubber soles are the eyes
walking and holding you in my sights;
run rabbit run
Your tail holds all of your secrets
trailing you around seedy corners
interrupting the dust that has settled;
you ruin everything you touch
Stinging my eyes with your footsteps
sealing my eyes with your sadness
but I do know where you’ve been
and I don’t want to know what you mean
you will be nothing to me.
Your incessant reminder perturbs me
so I will walk through the puddles again
in my toughest tiger tipped shoes
kicking up the water
I am so tired of this scent

I could stay here all day
dancing like this
because it makes you disappear
until the dust settles and I am barefoot again.
