A female Cherry-faced Meadowhawk (Sympetrum internum ), still somewhat immature in colouration, rests on a blade of grass during a warm, muggy afternoon. These little insect-hawks had a strong presence along the shore of local ponds, and fairly deep into the forest. The understory vegetation seemed to bear tan, orange and crimson dragonfly-fruit, the insects were so numerous.
