With the Presence of a Full Moon, The Eagle Soared by 


Originally I followed with my lens a fishing cormorant. Then this Bald Eagle ( Haliaeetus leucocephalus ) swooped in after a fish—perhaps the same piscine that the cormorant caught and lost hold of. The eagle, too, did not have any success. In any event, the actions of the raptor offered a nice opportunity for an in-flight capture.

Note that this eagle is banded just above the right foot (the bird’s right).
