During a long, slow, cool spring, lotus flowers slowly unfolded in local ponds. The gentlest of breezes, easily less than 1 m/s, slightly ruffled the water, adding texture to the pond surface. Blue darners flitted about, while frogs quietly drifted through the water between floating, green leaves.
