Bombus Mixtus: A Fuzzy Yellow Insect-Bear by

Morning showers dappled the vegetation with crystalline drops, beautiful spheres that persisted in the high humidity that followed. Without much warmth even by mid-afternoon, insects remained sluggish, and moved to locations painted with nurturing sunlight. During the equally cool evening that followed, a Mixed Bumble Bee (Bombus mixtus) warms itself in fading golden rays.

wow you are a fine wolf now and still these works of art you do with the bees and the bugs are just super duper!! FAV!

  • Hi, linaji, glad to see you drop in for a visit. Thanks for the nice comment, and I am glad you see the beauty. The light was perfect that evening, and I captured a few other insects before it faded. What’s funny is I forgot about this image, and it sat around on my HD until I rediscovered it today. When I saw it, I immediately thought—this should be on RB.
