Often, when a small flock of crows (known as a murder, horde or parliament—take you pick) forage together, they tend to spread out rather wide, keeping many meters distant. In this shot, two northwestern crows (Corvus caurinus) passed relatively near to one another, after spending several minutes much further apart in a careful scan of the grassy field.
