May is often a good time to find a variety of rhododendrons abloom throughout the city of Vancouver, BC. These evergreen woody shrubs sometimes attain the size of small trees, and provide quality habitat for many birds and insects in the region. The genus Rhododendron, of Greek roots, suggests the idea of “rose tree.”
