I have posted some pics of my latest books on my blog (see my profile page for the link).
In particular, I am very happy with one book, which I named ‘Francais’ – so much so that I pick it up and look at it every time I see it – it sits on my bedside table. It’s just so pretty. I hope its pics do it justice.

Choosing the paper is my absolute favourite part of making books. These are lovely. Keep working on them. Your latest works, the ones I think would make a great show, would also make a tremendous boxed book.

Thanks for your encouragement Lauren. You are giving me so many good ideas…

Love your work on book making Melanie … any plans to sell any creations? I appreciate they’d be expensive due to hand-made nature … but they are superb and I can imagine myself filling them with my writerly thoughts …
Melanie Dooley:
I was thinking about putting some onto Etsy or somewhere once I make a few. They would not be cheap (ie: $10), but not because of the time, rather the materials. You’d buy a similar size artisan (but machine made) book for around $50. I need to do some costings….

I look forward to the time when we can buy an original ‘Melanie Dooley’ book! ;-)
