I made a prototype of the bird book over the weekend. There are a few things I will change, such as the cover stock (need something durable, not porous as was used for the one in the photos), a thicker cover board, and a screw post binding method, not sewn binding. It’s coming along though…

I agree about the screw posts. If you do that try splitting the cover into two pieces of board-one board one inch over the posts and the other covering the book-if you hinge them at the split with book cloth you’ll be able to fold the cover over flat and get full view of the text block.
Nice to see you enjoying the binding. I warned you it was addictive.
