Night of the Bloodsuckers
Damn!! What a time to run out of gas, I was thinking to myself as I got out of the car and slammed the car door. Stuck on an old back road far from civilization, and no flashlight, phone, or even a match to start a fire to ward off the Autumn cold, well at least the moon is full tonight so that will make walking in the dark a little better. I remembered a road to the left about a quarter of a mile back from where I came. As I walked I could hear the frost covered leaves crunch under my feet. When I got to the road, driveway or what ever you would want to call it, it looked like it hadn’t been used for years, as I looked down the overgrown road I noticed an old house on a hill with the bright moon bathing the structure in its eerie light, “I hope this is going to be worth the walk”, I thought. The dead trees that overhung the path of the driveway looked like they were arms of death slowly taking their victim; I could hear a barn owl moaning its shrill shriek that echoed through the night, as I got closer to the rundown house I got an uneasy feeling; you know the feeling that you’re being watched. I felt a breeze like someone or something had just passed me. Now the fear is starting to set in on me, not knowing what is lurking in the shadows, I swear I feel that there is some ghastly force taunting me. Was that someone walking behind me? My whole body is shaking from fear, as I stopped walking I slowly turned around to face what ever it was that was tracking me like an animal tracking its prey, as I looked behind me I became at ease, I said to myself “You chicken shit, see there’s nothing behind you” But as I turned back to walk there looming over me was the most terrifying site that one could ever behold, and my mind screamed in the night, as this thing from Hell sunk its fangs into my neck, as I screamed into the darkness….Vampire!!!!

SUPERB! ! ! ! ! Ochen Horosha! (See you live in Moscow: NO idea how to spell Russian words with English letters though, and that includes my real name, Nadyezhda. See how bad that looks in English? lol!) I have put you on my watchlist, LOVE both your writing and your art! Never been to the old country, by the way… still hoping I can make that trip! I am a halfbreed Russian American (dad was Irish and Italian), but raised in the old Chicago Russian style (27 crazy Rooskies in a big old brownstone), in the Russian way and with the Russian mindset. Among my many life passions, is the study of my heritage and history – All Things Russian (and there is a group for that it seems, except you have to live there. Darn!) I also write. I will be checking in a lot – REALLY love your style, frogster!
frogster replied
Lol, MsTique, you dont have to worry about switching from English to Russian, ‘
) thats because I live in Moscow, Ohio about 30 miles east from Cincinnati, Ohio along the Ohio River. Dont be sad your not the first person who thought I lived in Russia. :)Thank you for all your nice comments.
