Annie Johnson began drawing about the time she started to walk, creating embroidered art pieces by age six, creating pottery pieces on a kick-stone pottery wheel by age seven, making her own patterns and sewing her own clothes by age eight, and painting with watercolors/acrylics by age ten. Her creative drive did not stop there. Creativity is definitely part of her DNA. She has always been an artist and cannot help but create with whatever she can get her hands on.

Annie continues to explore a variety of styles and mediums, but favors drawing with pencils, charcoal, and pastels. She is attracted to the styles of old world master artists, photorealism, and images of people. Although she works in a variety of mediums, she always retains a sense of identity, focus, and mastery in her work. Her works are instantly recognizable by the emotion and strength of her varied subject matter.

Annie was born in Washington, MO in 1972. She has six brothers and sisters who were each born in a different state. She spent half of her life traveling with her eccentric parents, exploring cultures and gaining valuable experiences in life. She currently resides in Southern Missouri. In 2009, she received a BS in Mathematics with a minor in Art from Missouri State University. While going to university, her artwork was coveted for various art shows, but she currently is not represented by anyone and is truly an undiscovered artist. This is mainly because she spends more time creating than promoting and sharing her works.
