This was taken at Monte Bello (Beautiful Mountain in Italian) Open Space Preserve in the beautiful Portola Valley, California. We had a lovely hike here & it is a fantastic place for diversity in landscape. This is one of the 26 Open Space Preserves on over 57,000 acres of land managed by the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department.
The 3,133-acre preserve is one of the District’s richest in wildlife and ecosystem diversity. The preserve encompasses the upper Stevens Creek watershed from Monte Bello Ridge to Skyline Ridge. The Stevens Creek riparian corridor is considered to be one of the finest in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
