Jæren, Norway, 2010 | Me and a friend of mine came across this lamb by a coincidence in a forest last year. It couldn’t walk, was only capable of laying around chewing grass. After a short photo session we looked around for the nearest farm. Meanwhile walking along the road, a woman over at the farm started shouting towards us – it turned out later she was actually observing us through binoculars.
We could bearly hear what she said, but it sounded something close to: “Put it down! Put it down!”. She thought we were trying to steal the poor lamb. To stress her down I stopped with the lamb in my arms, while my friend went over to the farm to explain the whole situation. I called him to check if it was ok, which it was, and continued to the farm where I handed it over to the farmer, who concluded it had to die.
And there’s the story behind this photograph. Glad I got to share it with you.

Such a sad story, I wonder what was wrong with it that they felt it had to be let to die. Darling lamb.
