I can see that if you ever leave the army…you’ll make a wonderful war photographer…having said that…I take it back. You already are a wonderful war photographer! This is amazingly well caught. As John says….love the wheels of smoke and also the cover of the truck.

As someone who has woken up to the crump and crack of mortars and incoming gunfire you bring back the memories, to my girlfriend who I don’t talk to about such things you show her what it looks like, with sympathy and without trying to glamorize it. Great timing Phillip, like everyone else I like the dust being blown off the tyres, shows the impact and power of the mortar. My Father would like this shot as he was in a mortar platoon in WWII with the Coldstream Guards. By the way the crop works well on this too.
