    fabulous

  • Julian Escardo replied

Thank you so much Aaron!.......this is a work in progress, but I was fascinated by the “fool the eye” effect of the light/shadows/geometry and decide to share.

  • Richard George

    Richard George

Ansel adams was noted for setting up and waiting…sometimes for days for the right conditions…hence Moonrise over Hernandez…this piece speaks to me of the same vision and patience…to wait for the white corresponding lines to peak at the corners is, in my view inspired…he was also noted for details for which there are non lost in this image. As usual Julian you continue to amaze and inspire. Kudos

  • Julian Escardo replied

You honor me with your comments Richard…...I do look and wait sometimes, others I grab opportunities that the sun and surfaces lend me – ty for your comment my friend!

  • Ron Quick

    Ron Quick

Lota of things going on here Julian-glass windows reflecting, cascading light spilling into the square creating a two tone affect on the grid pattern of stone thats framing a gorgeous blue sky that gives the illusion of a refreshing pool of blue water that I think creates a perfect square to draw the viewer in-but thats just me-anyway fantastic pic!

  • Julian Escardo replied

You are right…....many things at play here – thank you so much for your detailed and supportive comment Ron!

  • Marguerite Foxon

    Marguerite Foxon

You teach me so much about looking at every aspect of a photo, particularly in relation to lighting, before pressing the shutter button. This is superb.

  • Julian Escardo replied

Many thanks Marguerite…...your comment is lovely! – and yes, I do frame on site as much as possible.

  • Jerri Johnson

    Jerri Johnson

Yep, this has earned another “geez” for sure. Just love the play of light and shadow…and another burst of blue. My eye is partial to the darker version, but the pair shown at the bottom are destined to hang together. Brilliant, Julian!

  • Julian Escardo replied

Good morning and gezz back Jerri!...I kinda have grown to love the darker one as well – thank you for pointing it out. And the reason of “pairing” is exactly why I shall leave the lighter one for any special requests. Thnx again my good friend.

  • Geoff Coleman - Landscapes

    Geoff Coleman...

Oh man you must spend a lot of time around these buildings to get to know the combination of form, line, light and shadow to create masterpieces like this. That right-angled trapezoid light against the cube is just breathtaking. So much dynamism and tension from something that doesn’t move. You mess with my head man.

  • Julian Escardo replied

Not the best shot but I thought that the angle of light was right for a small but meaningful tribute to Escher…...I love your reference to dynamism and tension – spot on – ty once again Geoff!
