honestly, julian… he/she’s not so pretty (sorry)... but you’ve turned it into a beautiful art of colors and textures… : )

  • Julian Escardo replied

Just trying something with patterns…...If I don’t throw it out there, who knows – I’d rather be stoned to death than never know – Thnx for coming by Mims!

  • Julian Escardo replied

I try to see beyond things…..maybe I’ll continue to abstract “her”, they say everything is work in progress after all.

I’m seeing your urban abstract talents at play here with the tight framing, Julian. Really enhances the closeness of her bill to her body!

  • Julian Escardo replied

    Thank you Peter…..great comment!

Oh what a brilliant crop -lovely study in rule of thirds horizontal and vertical. And it is a beautifully compelling character shot as well. Beautiful.

  • Julian Escardo replied

    Ty Geoff….crop was key.

I love cropped shots like this – such a wonderfully intimate photo of this bird and I love the way you can even see the reflection in its/his/her eye . Agree with Geoff – rule of thirds very well illustrated here.

  • Julian Escardo replied

    Ty Marguerite…..appreciated visit!

Marvelous how she is crammed into the frame resulting in near abstract with grand colors and textures. Bravo.

  • Julian Escardo replied

I should be so clever… I snapped this at the Royal Armouries here in Leeds. I love that moustache! It’s an original, but they do have a workshop there too.
