and i love the colour of the glass aginst the metal.
i agree it is more dynamic
Julian Escardo replied
Sonia….....!! – it is great to see you as the first visit. This is a dear shot of mine as it combines many of the influences that inevitably drove Gehry’s work. Thank you for your comment my friend.
Lorraine Creagh
What an amazing place. Absolutely beautiful. Line and curves…wow
Julian Escardo replied
Thank you Lorraine….once visited, it is hard not to go back again and again. Yes, an amazing place.

I can almost feel the smoothness of the metal in this one Julian… another fantastically composed work of art!
Julian Escardo replied
Yes, it is a tactile thing depending on the time of day with this building – Thank you Adele!
rita vita finzi

Julian Escardo replied
Dancing eyes…...I take it Rita – grazie!

great shot
Julian Escardo replied
Thank you fauselr..
Marguerite Foxon
Terrific shot and I recall the other … I think I like this one more for the reasons you have given in your notes about it. Very strong and dynamic image which brings out G’s brilliance in a different way.
Julian Escardo replied
Glad to hear that Marguerite….I had a much more “grey” one with a less square crop that didn’t make justice to this section – thank you for coming by my friend..
Denis Dalby
I did have a slight reservation about the black edge of the panel in the top right hand corner, it caught my eye right away. Do you think that cropping this out would weaken the composition?
Julian Escardo replied
Good advice Denis…...I’ll work on it and even can post a cropped version under one of these framed ones to assess – thanks for offering an honest opinion – this is an intricate part of this site/service, collaboration among colleagues.
Shannon Byous ...
I really like this – even though it’s metal it feels warm and inviting. Gorgeous lighting. Gorgeous photo!
Julian Escardo replied
Thank you Shannon…..yes, metal can be warm and inviting under the right light – thank you for your comment!
David Padgett
light, line, geometry, texutre, composition – this has it all! I particularly enjoy the warm tones in the metal. as usual, you are successful in capturing the heart of Gehry’s architecture.
Julian Escardo replied
Always honored to receive your visit…the warm tones come alive always in the evening light – considering it is all grey metal I think Gehry was aware of the light and the surrounding bounce from other buildings around this piece – thank you David!
Bluesrose
All your architectural details looks so fantastic in frame.
Perfect title
Beautiful golden abstract
Julian Escardo replied
Yes Maris….the title came out right away even before downloading the shot – and I love it framed too – thank you.
Eden Sandwell
I love the detail in this – I personally like the darker edge – it makes the highlight/reflection stand out more, but that’s just me and I don’t know anything! I hope the cleaners get well paid in this building – lol!
Julian Escardo replied
Thank you Eden…...The black strip never quite bothered me either as it provides another break – but it is a matter of taste/visual perception. Thanks for offering your opinion!
Joanne Bradley
I don’t know how you manage to make all this metal look so warm! Also love the light reflecting off the surfaces. I find the staircase, the green tinged window, and railing give the whole image a visual grounding and add to the interest in the work! Looks amazing framed!
Julian Escardo replied
A welcome and detailed comment…..thank you for your insight and time Joanne!
Antoine Khater
Wow ! what a structure great color and sharpness i love it
Julian Escardo replied
Thanks Antoine….
Geoff Coleman...
Again a fascinating juxtaposition between the “heaviness” of the metal plates and the “lightness” in the way Gehry deploys them – particularly the curves and the use of reflected light. And then the real mastery comes in with the way you not only capture all these elements but do it in 2 dimensions when he had 3 to play with. Superb perspective to this shot Julian.
Julian Escardo replied
ahhh…your comments are like the cheese and a fine port after a dinner (something to sit down for to enjoy). I like your reference to 2d / 3d – It is hard to do that but the higher-than-the-subject camera position helped in this case. Thank you Geoff!
frangipenny
Great perspective on this.. wonderful shot!
Julian Escardo replied
Comment appreciated Penny…..thanks!
Graham Lea
Great shot. I love the sterility mixed with the paths of alight going all over the place.
Julian Escardo replied
Thank you for your gracious comment Graham…....!!
Liv Stockley
Your images are breathtaking beautiful, simple, striking, strong…...a feast to ones eye :-))
Julian Escardo replied
Forgive this late answer Liv…..I am honored by your comment needless to say – thank you!
Elizabeth Bravo
Breath taking….ALL OF IT!!!! Your work is fantastic. I love this one very much. The angle is perfect and it has a wonderful sense of balance. But then you appear to be a master of that. The lines all seem to be dancing in a slow swaying waltz. I love the reflection of the stairs and the shine of all the surfaces. Beautiful work.
Julian Escardo replied
Elizabeth….thank you so much for your comment – I love your enthusiasm and detailed account of this piece. The building depicted is my favorite place in LA to shoot – The sense of movement, light and harmony, as interpreted in one of your paragraphs, is exactly what I set out to capture – thanks again!
Dave Rollins
What a great image. As already noted, there’s so much good stuff to it.
Julian Escardo replied

Gehry is so fantastic…but…does he know you? You are the best Photographer he can have to show his work!
Julian Escardo replied
Will you write to him?......I am honored by this comment Tereza – I hug his work often and I feel I am beginning to understand him -
terezadelpilar
JUlian, I would send him a folio with your nicest photos of his work and see what happens. Send him some prints too. If you don´t do it you will never know.
When I went to Australia I knocked at he best Arcbitects door in town. I was accepted to work for them. Do whatever you have to do to achieve what you want.

It is so perfect for a hospital setting – clinical lines caught on camera. We are lucky that contemporary architecture is made for the camera; some, like you, capture it so much better than others! Thnk you.
