Derelict house sitting quietly among the fields. by

I arrived on the outskirts of Newtown-crommelin village, Co.Antrim, N.Ireland 40 minutes before sunrise. I hiked about before I came across this old derelict house. There was a lot of fog and no light was getting through so I waited about half an hour til the fog cleared and the sun give me a nice light to capture this shot. I had a nice morning hike, taking photos and its nice to share the views i see.

You can’t beat the light at that time of day Fred. Gorgeous view and the light on the derelict building is soothingly warm, there is a sense of the light struggling through the fog rather than direct sunlight.

Love the slopes of the snow covered hills in the backdrop and the fog’s cleared away nicely for a lovely blue sky.

  • thanks Stuart for a great comment :-) I am very happy you like the backdrop of the slopes. The farmer had piled clay about 8 foot high and it was this pile that i climbed on top of, placed my tripod and had enough elevation to bring those sloping fields into my background. If anybody had seen me i would have good some funny looks, the things us photographers will do for a shot LOL

Fred your dedication has paid off again. The light is exquisite, I particulary like the subtle light on the (are they?) pallets? leaning on the house. I love the unusual cloud/mist distribution in the background. A fave for sure :-)

  • Thank you very much for your lovely comment Elsie :-)and a bigger thanks for the fave, much appreciated.
