This painting is watercolour on stretched 300gsm Arches watercolour paper and is painted in a realistic style. Image size: 89×63 cms.
It is the start of a series of boats that I want to do.
I found a new waterway where dinghies are moored, near where I live. Fortunately for me, the boats can’t be pulled up on to shore when it rains as the land is a public park.
Not so fortunate for the dinghy owners, though, some of the boats are full up with water from the recent rain we have been fortunate to have.
Thank you all so very much for all the kind comments, faves and watches. I really appreciate these.
These are my most favorite of your works Freda. I’m still a bit in awe of your ability to paint the sand ripples beneath the water. Amazing, you are so talented.
You are kidding me . Wow what a great water colour artist you are!!! I thought it was a photo. Well done. Amazing work, Cheers Esther Ps Click on reply instead of comment other wise people wont receive your answer to their comment ( I hope you dont mind me saying this :o).
No Esther, I don’t mind you saying that at all. Thanks for the fave and your very kind comments. cheers Freda
I am stunned as Jim with you very keen observation and skill in painting the shift from the lower left boat to its reflection and then the transparency of the water with the shadow on the sandy bottom below. I have made it my desktop screen so I can continue to study just what you have done here to make this image work so well. Great job!

Wonderful painting Freda, I love the composition, the boats look like the are huddled in a conspiratorial conversation about fishermen!
Thanks Estelle, that’s good about the fishermen.
