Born in Pensacola, FL, Florita P. Realin could be found as a child coloring on the back of shoeboxes and discarded paper with various pencils.
Years later, after forgetting her true passion, Florita decided to pick up a paintbrush for the first time just 4 years ago and an artist was re-born. Two years after that faithful day, Florita won her first award in an art contest in Sarasota, FL, and has continued to grow by leaps and bounds to the surprise and amazement of all who have been lucky to experience her journey.
Florita’s unique style can be attributed to the passion this self-taught artist demonstrates for each subject as she strokes Watercolors in a way that seems to contradict watercolor painting. Her works have been displayed in art shows and exclusive exhibits and have attracted collectors from Tennessee to Texas, from the caribbean to Luxembourg. At first glance, most people don’t realize they are looking at a watercolor piece. The clever marriage of color and passion invite the mind to delve deeper into the story behind the painting. Perhaps Florita’s work can best be understood through her own words: “I live and suffer each painting. It is not uncommon for me to cry over finished work, and I’m deeply humbled when someone appreciates my work. I started doing this for me, and I’m so honored that others want to own my work…”
