From: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
by Lewis Carroll
CHAPTER XII
Alice’s Evidence

`Wake up, Alice dear!’ said her sister; `Why, what a long sleep you’ve had!’
`Oh, I’ve had such a curious dream!’ said Alice, and she told her sister, as well as she could remember them, all these strange Adventures….
…Her sister…sat on, with closed eyes, and half believed herself in Wonderland, though she knew she had but to open them again, and all would change to dull reality….

…She pictured to herself how this same little sister of hers would, in the after-time, be herself a grown woman; and how she would keep, through all her riper years, the simple and loving heart of her childhood: and how she would gather about her other little children, and make their eyes bright and eager with many a strange tale, perhaps even with the dream of Wonderland of long ago: and how she would feel with all their simple sorrows, and find a pleasure in all their simple joys, remembering her own child-life, and the happy summer days.

I can’t decide which one I like better, I think I actually like this greener tone a little better. It seems more natural and earthy!

  • Agreed, more natural and earthy. And you and are both about color, so to speak. I did want to experiment with combining gray with the color (for Don’t Ask Alice), and also a subtractive process (for Please Ask Alice). But I must admit, this canvas really looks good in the earth toned setting, right. Thanks for your input Tammy! :D

WoW! Just Wonderful to look at, Frannie. Love the black/white/red cup and that clock and the window……..so much dimension and depth. Great Work!

  • Thanks, Deborah. I love all of the elements. Took me a while to figure out how I was going to put them all together, coherently. :))

Frannie, this ‘Is’ amazing, how you have painted and fused all these images in to one seamless, coherant painting boggles my mind. Beautiful, I love seeing it on a wall too.

  • Norval, I was scared for a while that it would not all come together, and that it might never have a theme. Those tutorials came out slowly, and I didn’t want to get ahead of myself with the actual art. Once I started rearranging furniture, though, it came together pretty fast. :) Thanks so much for your comment, Norval. And HAPPY NEW YEAR!
