Fruit and sterling still life painting, in oil on 16 × 12 in. canvas covered board. Created LIVE in my solo exhibition workshop studio. Just tick the follow topic link on the page to follow my progress on new works.
Banana and two apples in stacked silver bowls and trays, Great Grandma Fiala’s gold trimmed glass cake plate, sterling water pitcher and butter server, and custom, hand-made Venetian wine glasses in mother’s china cabinet— all used regularly in the Moore family.
China cabinets come and go. As casual is in, I’m thankful that this china cabinet has remained relatively the same. Most of these pieces are very old and have a history in the family.
I have to admit that I forgot to remove the banana, after sneaking in the fruit one Sunday to take a picture. It was found the next week, with a black exterior. oops. I may have finally redeemed myself with this painting, however.
