Join me at Solo’s Juried Invitational Exhibition…

I am very excited to have my art selected to exhibit in SoJie 16. SoJie 16 takes its name from the first letters of Solo’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. This month is the 16th such exhibition; and 74 other artists, besides myself, are exhibiting. Together we represent at least 14 countries.

Winners of the invitational will be announced on July 3rd, when a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in three categories: digital art, photography, and traditional art.

Non members, as well as members, ARE welcome to view all of the work nominated. So I hope that you will click the show banner, above, and follow the link to view my fellow exhibitors. The works are shown “gallery size” and are beautiful, seen together.

If you do not belong to the group, Solo Exhibition, you cannot participate in commenting; and joining to comment is not encouraged. But you CAN lend support by commenting in my journal, here, about the show.

THIS JOURNAL IS ALSO PART OF A WEB RING. You can follow other artists involved, by clicking on the WEB RING BADGE below. You don’t need to be a member of Solo Exhibition to show your support, this web ring is especially for non members! Thank you!

Frannie, I think you should do LOTS more landscape…..both of these works are really beautiful, “Rural Oxfordshire” has that wonderful feeling of distant fields and rolling hills. Golden rod or mustard fills in to add that lovely bit of gold. This is very nice.
But my fave of the two is “Thunderstorm over Meteora, Greece.” Watching you work on this was wonderful. You mapped it out and slowly added the detail. And the bit of rain in the distance although a bit of a chance really paid off. What a beautiful scene that was originally captured….and what a wonderful job you did helping us see the beauty even more. Awesome job Frannie. Congratulations!!

  • Thank you, Elizabeth. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed painting these landscapes. Thanks so much for your beautiful comments on my work.

It’s always so much fun to follow the Web Ring, Frannie! And you must be so thrilled with the way these beautiful paintings evolved… The drama and the colours of “Thunderstorm over Meteora, Greece” are especially exciting. Congratulations, and thanks again for all the hard work you do for artists on RB!!!

  • It is fun, isn’t it Mieke. I’m so glad you were still up when we opened the ring! I am happy with these two works and really enjoyed them, which is critical! Thanks so much for your kind words, Mieke.
