Mont-n-sano in The New American Landscape series
Artists and writers have always taken their responsibility seriously to speak for those who cannot or will not.
Today, I exercise that liberty. My newest work in The New American Landscape series, speaks not only to the American plight; but also to one clouding the landscapes of Europe, India, South Africa, Canada, Mexico, and soon more.
Large corporations have agendas that are changing cultures rapidly, under our very feet, with the food we eat and grow.
I support and applaud science. My family tradition is steeped in pioneering science over many generations. But I draw the line at the USE of science to take over power that belongs in the hands of many.
Certain corporations have insidiously sought and won patents on GENES, because they funded discovery of that gene. The patent protects all derivatives. Don’t think I’m kidding when I say that a large company has patented a fat pig gene.
I’ll let that soak in. So if you’re size XX or over, you may be OWNED!
Seriously, so far, this is only for pigs that go “oink”, and doesn’t apply to those of us who eat out five nights a week, and gulp down Texas-size Margaritas for grins.
Pig farmers, who have raised fat pigs the old fashioned way are crying “this STINKS”! But who is listening? If their pigs have this GENE, suddenly a foreign corporation owns them. Foreign. Read: A U.S. Corporation owns them. “Whatz uh-uh-uh-...what’s happening?” Porky Pig wouldn’t like this, if he was alive today. Suggested video, re: pig patent
Thousands of Cotton farmers have committed suicide in the last several years. Why? Because of a cotton pickin’ cotton patent owned by the same corporation that patented the fat pig GENE. That’s right, they’re hogging cotton, too!
If the cotton seed blows into your field, uh-oh, that company owns your cotton. The special cotton needs special conditions. Just this much rain and just that much sun. If the conditions aren’t right, the farmer loses everything. And they have; including, unfortunately, their family pride and confidence that they could make it right, and ultimately, saddly, their life.
Did I say that the cotton famer suicides are in India? What in the cotton-pickin’ heck is a big U.S. corporation doing taking over India’s cotton crops? They think we won’t hear the cries from poor Indian farmers? Now you can. Suggested video, re: India cotton farmers
Europeans battled genetically modified corn in foodstuff at the street level. They just flat refused to buy it, so the grocers and wholesalers stopped ordering. But in the U.S., there has been no huge outcry. Makes you want to put Walmart’s foghorn to good use: “Attention shoppers!”.... Suggested video, re: GMO
Up until recently, I had my head in the sand. Oh, I may be a smart girl; but I didn’t want to let in any negativity. While I attribute my many and various accomplishments to that way of living, the ostrich trick no longer cuts it. Besides, my tail feather are not “all that” any more.
Surfing You-Tube, just a year ago, ended up in an awakening and a seminal work, Final Rewind, my first video production that wasn’t a Flash, marketing piece.
I would really love it if you would listen, comment, and rate Final Rewind. I narrate and have a soft voice. So crank it up a notch. More than that, share it if you think it will help spread the word.
So far, only my friends have seen it. Now it’s your turn; because you are my new friend.
In the meantime, I present to you my artistic endeavor on Red Bubble, New American Landscape, part II in my series, “The New American Landscape”. You may still recognize the first, pretty one, in this second piece.
*
Rural Landscape, just above, was the first in the series, to show the idyllic farmland, or countryside. Danger lurks, but it’s not evident.
Here, again is the detail of the Gargoyle’s arm, in case you missed it on the main page:

Please do look closely at the detail on the arm of the Gargoyle. Names have been changed to protect me from the guilty! But the informed will understand.
The goal is to inform and create change by standing up for what is right-as-rain, God-given as genes, and in our field of vision and compassion.

Your video was so well done, and very thought provoking. Man against the cooperate and political machine. I know as people we can make a difference.
F.A. Moore replied
We can make a difference, if we stick together, and think as we’re spending our hard earned money. Thank you so much Michelle, for spending time with the video.
