New American Landscape

Gargoyles ugly, dark, and looming;
Overlook the erstwhile blooming landscape,
desolate now, but fresh in memory.

Giants in the garden Eden.

Gothic, no, Americana, barely eaten;
Taken by surprise and sorely beaten shed
no tear, for fear of giants.

Giants in the garden Eden.

Whilst whole countries stand by watching;
Giants o’er their landscape trodding, claiming
grain and livestock pools from nature.

Giants shade the garden Eden.

A single voice wails mad with fury;
Counts backwards, bent, and bleary-eyed;
And yells, “You don’t own nature”!

Giants left the garden Eden.

Thanks, Hans. I don’t want to get too heavy here. I want people to enjoy the art and the poetry. But we can appreciate and be moved on a deeper level, too. I’m hoping to achieve that fine balance.

It takes some amount of effort to not tolerate something that some people in government and business seem so deaf to hear. Your way is a very good way to get attention. Also pushing for the gov. to get to the G20 meeting in Copenhagen is another way I have been pushing for as well. Keep it coming.:0)Song

Wow, Fran! What a statement! Very dramatic and symbolic. And, I have to also say, disturbing, but that’s how real life can be, isn’t it. The genetic altering and claim of ownership with seeds….SEEDS for Heaven’s sake!....is something I saw predicted years ago and that gave me chills and made me angry. And now, here we are…in the future. Very well done, Fran, and awesome about all the features!

And it seems Monsanto (and a few other companies) decided that Hawaii is a perfectly fine place to have their open experimental plots for GM crops. Not surprisingly the Hawaiians are pissed off.
